Hans Wegner
Hans wegner is a Danish designer. He begins by studying cabinet making. Designer from 1938, he will create in particular all the furniture of the library of Nyborg and the town hall of Aarhus. He collaborates with many Scandinavian architects and designers. It is in the 50s that he will know the international success when the magazine Interiors (USA) will say of his model "The Chair" that it is "the most beautiful chair in the world". It was chosen by Kennedy for its comfortability due to his chronic back pain during his debate against Nixon. According to Wegner "One should not be able to distinguish where it (the chair) begins and where it ends", it is an aesthetic whole. There's no front, back or bottom.
